    Yes. It is most unusual that this structure was not demolished. Glad they didn’t.

  3. Seems they liked to build their brick structures to last.
    Forgotten Illawarra Railways shows this as the over bridge from the colliery to a dump (siding?) made in 1903.

    Noting the waterfall tunnel manhole brick from the back of the refuges was left in place when the tunnel was opened out. Would it have been that hard to take out two more courses of brick or was it enough hard work already, leave it alone 😉
